A labour of love; The making of a pair of Edward Green shoes

by Frans Boone October 18, 2016

From the first click of the clicker's knife, the sounds draw one in: a clatter and rustle, a creak and a tap. The sounds of materials being cut, sewn and shaped into more than the sum of their parts.

Much work is still done by hand and where machines are used they are often those that our great-grandparents would recognise - machinery which demands great skill and attentiveness and in return gives us outstanding quality.

At every station you'll see craftsmen engaged in their work: checking, thinking, adjusting - a symbiosis of maker and machine.

These are shoes born of time and attention and love. Our labour of love.
