The "Birks" model is designed after the jacket jazz trumpeter John Birks “Dizzy” Gillespie wore. Jazz musicians of the time were often wearing sportcoats but this one really stands out. It's a comfortable sports jacket with a slightly boxy cut but an elasticated waist to give it some shape. The front can easily be left open and just closed at the button or fully zipped up when needed.
The gabardine used is exclusive to Cohérence. It's a high density yarn-dyed gabardine using a superior grade long-staple Indian cotton. Through a special process the fabric is water repellent and breathable while still have the nice feel of a classic gabardine weave. This version is lined with a wool blanket jersey for winter.
