Like every year we bring back the Aspesi Toronto (Canadian) Field jacket, but this time we also initiated a very limited serie! Just 12 pieces, Worldwide! Indigo dipped 5 times at Blue Print Amsterdam, a reference in the world of Indigo dip dying. The dying proces takes place in tubs, the most artisanal way possible. The result was better than we expected or hoped for in our wildest dreams, so we decided to go for it and offer you this one time shot.
No blue can beat the Indigo blue! When the sun shines it's like a metal blue, when it's grey outside , the blue is very intens, really amazing how this color absorbs the light.
Blue Print was founded by Celia Geraedts, graphic artist using all techniques possible. Nowadays she works for several Dutch and International brands, dip dying various pieces in a bubbling tub with Indigo "paint". This is the old technique and it needs lots of craftsmanship and devotion, something Celia really offers.
Her motivation and experience are amazing, all is done by hand, so nothing can beat her honest crafts(wo)manship!
It's a very labour intensive job, dipping one jacket 5 times can take over a couple of hours of work, but als the drying process takes a lot of time and attention to avoid irregularities. All details are important, so the dying process needs a lot of attention, one wrong decision and the whole process can started up again, really you don't want to!
Anyway, like mentioned, the result of the first run is great, we decided to go for the "five dip" dying, for the best result.
The indigo is not navy, but it's close to and still it looks way more "alive"
The final production will start second half of February, so the first deliveries are due begin March, up to end of March.
All jackets will be delivered with a custom made letterpress tag and will be unique in this one time run!
Sizes don't change during this dying, so you can just stay in your size like the regular Toronto.
To be sure you have one, you can pre order one now, just make sure you are aware of the right size as this is a non refundable pre-order for an unique piece, so maybe it's best to check the sizes , click on the check the fit button for more info.
Disclaimer. The indigo might 'bleed" wearing it, so best wear it first times on color- like tees, shirts or sweaters. We will not take any responsibility for this. To avoid troubles don't sit on your neighbors white couch or your friends new leather tan car seats too before you washed your jacket a couple of times, you might loose a good friend ;-). So you are warned, but i am sure all denim-indigo lovers are aware.
