Japan is a specialist when it comes to leather jackets, and it results in beautiful jackets like this type A-2 flight jacket. This jacket is a true icon within the Real McCoy's range, made by a small team with leather produced by the Shinki tannery exclusively for Real McCoy's.
It was originally designed to Air Force pilots. Between 1931 and 1945 roughly 200.000 pieces were produced, that made it the most produced leather jacket ever... It was produced not only by military factories, it was also produced by private contractors. Depending on the manufacturer there were some differences in Silhouette and details like collars or flaps. This makes it a fascinating piece, and considered by many as a masterpiece.
