Officially the US Army had no shorts in its inventory. However, soldiers stationed in the Philippines wore shorts, these were made from the trousers that came with the summer uniform for enlisted men in cotton khaki shade No. 1. After the invasion of the Philippines in 1942 the khaki uniform was largely replaced as a summer combat uniform by the herringbone twill uniforms.
These shorts retained their military specifications like the buttons in zinc, pockets made from cotton twill and a button fly. The fit of these shorts is relaxed. The Real McCoy´s has remade these shorts after carefully research of original shorts used in the early 1940´s. Made in Japan.
