The Loopwheel Cardigan by The Real McCoy's is modelled after a US Navy cardigan that was issued from the 1930's into the 1940's. It was produced as an insulating layer that could be worn under a jacket.
The sweater is made from McCoy's signature mid-weight 10Oz brushed Loopwheel jersey. The fabric is made on old-fashioned loopwheel machines, known to knit only a meter of fabric per hour. The result, a premium soft and textured fabric that could not be copied by a modern machine. The fabric was perfected over many years of trial and error to find the right balance between the count of each of the three layers of yarn that make up the sweatshirt's fabric and the tightness of the knit.
All McCoy's garments are made in Japan with utmost attention for the past and details and in a way that does not compromise.
